I've decided I want to do monthly favorites so I am kicking it off with my May favorites. I know it is now June but it took me a little while to collect all of my favorites, please don't judge me. Bali Sunrise CandleI bought this candle in the medium size from Target for $10 this brand has small ones for $5 and large ones for $15. The medium is about the size of Bath and Body Works candles. This particular candle smells just like the ones they burn in Anthropologie, which I'm pretty sure are infused with something that makes you want to buy overpriced things. This candles burn time is 50 hours which is fantastic; Bath and Body Works have a burn time of only 20 hours. Another huge plus of this candle is that it is a soy candle instead of paraffin. This means that it burns longer, the scent is stronger and carries further, and it burns cleaner which means it doesn't produce the soot that paraffin candles do. Soy candles are also better for you to breathe in than paraffin. Get this candle here. How 'Bout Them Apples Cheek and Lip PaletteI purchased from Hautelook half off for $16. It is seriously the best cheek palette in the history of ever. It has six different colors that work well with most skin tones. They blend easily and do not feel heavy on the skin. I have found that they work well with foundation as a base as well as by themselves, though I do think they work best with a primer. I love that this doubles as a lip palette, and it actually works for lips as long as you are wearing some kind of lip balm underneath. The colors are highly pigmented and are very versatile through the seasons which is great because palette usually don't transition through seasons very well. You can find the palette here. Pineapple Sunset PerfumeI purchased this from Anthropologie for $16, they no longer have it on their website but I believe it is still sold in stores. I love this perfume because normally pineapple is almost always combined with coconut and it's not in this perfume. Don't get me wrong I love coconut perfume but I love how unexpected this is and how well the floral, fruity and spicy scents mix. It is the perfect fresh summer scent and the packaging is adorable. Charcoal Biore StripsI bought these from Target on a whim because I love the Biore charcoal facewash so I figured these would be amazing and they are. When I get blackheads they are always super stubborn and these actually pulled a lot out. My mom also tried them and she loved them as well. They are just like the traditional Biore strips but they have charcoal in them. Guys these are seriously amazing and you need to go buy them now and enjoy them and love them like I do. There are about $6 from Ulta (this is where they are the cheapest) here. MUFE Aqua Eyes in Metallic Teal Blue.I got a sample of this eyeliner from Sephora and I LOVE it. It is such an awesome eyeliner it has amazing pigmentation and glides on so easily weather you put it in your water line or on your lid it looks fantastic. I have not had to sharpen this liner yet, even after multiple uses. It lasts all day and I am in love with this color, I love putting it on under my bottom lashes for an unexpected pop of color. I have not tried any of the other colors but I have heard they are just as great. From Sephora a full size costs $19 and you can get it here. As always thanks for reading. Now that I am out of school I am working on a bunch of new content. I am also putting out a series on body image on my lifestyle page so keep an eye on that. So excited to finally get into the fashion side of my blog! I might dedicate a day to fashion posts, maybe Fashion Fridays, but who knows. For now it is probably just going to be sparatic fashion posts. But anyway let's get on to the actual post!
One of my favorite items to wear are graphic tees. They are so fun to play with, whether you are dressing down or up. This is one of my favorite tees, I think the saying is so funny and it displays some of my personality while still being cute. In this outfit I went for a nice casual look by pairing the shirt with cuffed jeans and a flannel tied around the waist. However I added a bit of class to the look by pairing it with a fancier flat instead of a sandal or sneaker. I love how unexpected this shoe choice is and the touch of gold it adds to the look. Thank you for reading and don't forget to like eyelashes and curls on facebook! Leave any requests in the comment section, they are much appreciated. It is completely a dupe for Benefit's The Porefessional (I think it is almost better.) Pros
Cons
Like I said earlier I love this primer, and you cant beat the price. I came up with pros fast and really had to think to come up with cons. I would give this a nine out of ten half a point deducted for the lack of color correcting options and half a point deducted because it runs out fast.
This is a tutorial of a normal braid layered with a small fishtail braid. It is an easy, fun and super cute way to mix up the normal side braid. Start by separating a small chunk of hair out from the rest of your hair and secure with a hair tie or clip. Next braid the remaining hair in a normal three strand braid pulling out the sections to make the braid look fuller. Then pull the section you set aside earlier through the center of the top of your braid so that the section is now in front of the main braid instead of behind. Use the section you set aside to create a fishtail braid then secure both braids with a hair tie (you can leave the one in the three strand if you prefer, I pull mine out.) Finally secure the braids together by pushing bobby pins through the back of the three strand braid into the the fish tail braid. This Braid is super easy but looks very intricate and elegant. I always get compliments when I wear it. Tell me what you think of this tutorial and what kinds of tutorials you would like to see for future tutorial Tuesdays! Thanks for reading.

So this is the first tutorial Tuesday yay! I will put them in a category, so you can find all of them in one place once I put out more. I wore my hair like this a few days ago and got a bunch of questions on how I did it, so I decided I would post a tutorial of it here. Enjoy! To start this look create two pigtail braids and pull each section out a bit so the braids have more volume. You can add some volumizing powder or even baby powder to enhance them further. In additon I like to use hair ties that match my hair color because they are easier to hide. Once you have created your braids flip the braid so that the inside is facing out, then lay that part against your head and tuck the end of the braid under. Secure the braid with lots of bobby pins. I like to pin each section of the braid then go back and secure loose pieces. This look is great for second day hair, it easily hides greasy hair. It also works well for lazy days, it is easy but looks like you put effort into your hair. Thank you for reading May the wings of your eyeliner always be even, Maisie Lips- Cruella by NARS
Bronzer- St. Lucia by E.L.F. Top- Forever 21 I am obsessed with creme and liquid blush and bronzer. I really have no idea why I didn't try it earlier. Liquid is always scary but I really think it is always worth it in the end (I mean liquid eyeliner is amazing so why wouldn't blush and bronzer be?) I really like the high pigmentation you get and it is so much nicer to work it into your foundation and it looks so much cleaner. Tarte bronze and glow bronzer and cheek tint was my first dive into this brave new world, I can never go back. It is so much easier than it looks! If you are planning to jump into this amazing obsession of mine I would recommend getting a beauty blender (you can get a knockoff at target for $5 that works just as well) this will help you blend everything without applying to much, be sure to soak it in water before using (like a normal sponge) or it will absorb all of your product. NYX has some great creme blushes that are good to start off on and you barely use any product which is awesome. Revlon photo ready skinlights has a bronzer that is a nice "mousey" (not even a word haha) consistency. I really recommend trying this if you have not it is life changing! Thanks for reading.
May the wings of your eyeliner always be even, Maisie Hey everyone I took a break from my blog for a bit so I could decide what I wanted to do with it and how and what I wanted to post. I want to post more frequently so I am going to start doing more posts about trends I like and tips and tricks for other things. I want to get more into tutorials so I am working on getting some together right now. I am also thinking about starting a youtube channel but want to wait till I have funds to get editing software. I'm going to really jump into my blog and am hoping to have several posts a week. Please like my blog on facebook if you haven't already and as always thanks for reading.
May the wings of your eyeliner always be even, Maisie I recently discovered this DIY face mask that I LOVE. It actually gets rid of a lot of blackheads and leaves your face feeling nice and smooth and the best part is, there are only three essential ingredients. You will need: 2 tablespoons of baking soda 1 tablespoon of honey 1 teaspoon of water A pinch of coconut oil (optional) The optional coconut oil will make it easier to mix. HOW TO MAKE IT Mix together all ingredients until they are the consistency of toothpaste. If your mix is to thick add more water or if its too thin add more baking soda, the ratios do not have to be perfect. APPLICATIONApply the mixture to a damp clean face with wet hands, spread it on like lotion. Leave for 10-20 minutes. If the mixture is not sticking to your face get your face and hands wet again and/or add a bit more water to your mix. I hope you guys enjoy this DIY as much as I do. If you have any questions please leave them in the comments. I also have created a facebook page for my blog found here_ Please go give it a like. Thank you for all of your support.
Always, Maisie. I have seen Layered Eyeliner all over Pinterest and I think it is beyond adorable. Here are some photos that I've loved on Pinterest. I love how they added the gold on the bottom inner corner as well. The the smudged liner with the gorgeous emerald color. Stilla has an emerald that I always drool over at Sephora. Loving the color, it reminds me the blue lime crime liner all the beauty gurus are talking about. I am drooling over this look of lining a metallic wing with thin black liner. Plus how gorgeous is the gold that they used. The shadow they paired with the liner on this is beyond gorgeous such a bold pop of color, but it works. I absolutely love the metallic eyeliner layered with the black. I love how this look makes it unnecessary to have eye shadow but can look gorgeous with it. I have always been a big fan of eyeliner instead of shadow but I get bored of the same winged liner I love how many options this opens up. I might just jump on the lime crime bandwagon and purchase some of their colored liners.
Thanks for reading. Always, Maisie All photos from pinterest. I spend a lot of time on my hair. I mean a lot. The time I invest in thinking about ways I could improve how I take care of/do my hair probably would take up at least 20% of my day. So throughout my post puberty hair discovery era, I have developed some techniques that have worked for me and made my life better and may do the same for you. COCONUT FRIGGIN OILSeriously I can't even explain to you all of the things coconut oil has done for me and how much my life has improved through the use of coconut oil. When they find the cure for cancer I'm pretty sure it will involve coconut oil. But for now we;ll just talk about our use for it in hair. I use the solid form of coconut oil and apply it in my hair until it is completely soaked and leave it for about 30 minutes and then wash it off in the shower. let me just tell you now. after doing this my hair feels like mermaids came to me in the shower and they each donated a lock of their oh so perfect hair to my oh so not perfect hair seriously its that great. i know youre judging me but once you do it you will understand. SCRUB A DUB DUBBING THAT SCALP Recently I read something in a magazine about how I was washing my hair wrong so I repented and changed my ways, and I am now a much better person with a lot better hair. instead of doing circular strokes which apparently damage your hair you should do vertical and horizontal strokes. So I adopted this new and innovative method and i have noticed my hair has been growing faster and healthier and I completely recommend this technique STIMULATE THAT SCALP This one is super simple but it very helpful and good for you hair. Take time to carefully brush your hair morning and night this stimulates hair growth which means healthier hair which everyone wants so just do it and your hair will be the bomb dot com. SMOOTHING SERUM AMAZINGNESS About two years ago I began applying smoothing serum in my hair after I washed and it has made a huge difference in the manageability of my hair. It is so much softer and it curls easier; my natural hair also is a ton prettier and I have worn it natural more often since starting this. My favorite smoothing serum is Silk Infusion by Chi and it ranges from $25 to $43 (different sizes) and is worth every penny. I thinks it smells yummy which is important to me and it doesn't clash with shampoo scent at all. COOL IT DOWN I started to not use heat on my hair at least two days of the week and I try to preserve my hair when I do use heat for the next day so I only have to do touch ups. This has made my hair a lot healthier and it also has made me more creative with my hair and I have discovered really cute hairstyles because of it. I hope you find these tips helpful.
